[Solved] Really Simple SSL doesn’t detect SSL certificate in SiteGround

We encountered an error while trying to setup “Really Simple SSL” plugin for a website hosted at SiteGround web hosting. The error that’s shown while activating SSL certificate and redirection is as follows:

Really Simple SSL failed to detect a valid SSL certificate. If you do have an SSL certificate, try to reload this page over https by clicking this button.

After snooping around a bit, we discovered that SiteGround doesn’t install the SSL certificate by default on all websites. To resolve this issue, head over to your control panel at Siteground and then goto CPanel and then scroll all the way down and locate an icon named “Lets Encrypt” under “Security”.

On the “Let’s Encrypt” page, scroll down to “Install Lets Encrypt Certificate”. Select the domain name from the drop-down list and click on the “Install” button to install the “Lets Encrypt” Certificate in your SiteGround web hosting account.

Now go back to your “Really Simple SSL” plugin and activate it again. It should work like a charm.
